Dear Friends in Journalism,
We know you are asked to donate to many organizations at this time of year and we hope you recognize that a donation to RTDNF is different. Your help supports the future of our business, our craft and our democracy. Those are certainly high claims and without your generous annual contribution we could not make them.
Each year, the Radio Television Digital News Foundation awards more than a dozen scholarships and fellowships to deserving college students who are working hard to one day take their place in our profession.
The Chairman receives the honor of calling each winner to tell them of their award. One of those recipients was so taken by the news she exclaimed, “You’ve not only made my day, you’ve made my life!” Her gratitude proves the value of your continued support of RTDNF and our mission.
For nearly 40 years, the RTDNF has been at the forefront supporting career professionals. Our long-standing partnership with the RIAS German-American journalist exchange helps scores of professionals gain a better understanding of the complexities of international reporting every year, and our partnership with the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) provides journalists with stories and best practices for covering personal finance.
Further, RTDNF provides leadership training, encourages diversity, promotes ethics and integrity and defends our First Amendment freedoms.
Finally, our annual First Amendment Gala each spring in Washington honors leaders in our profession for their work in defense of our right to free speech and a free and unfettered press.
I hope you’ll agree that RTDNF provides valuable support for our profession. That only happens because you support RTDNF in return.
Please consider making an annual tax-deductable contribution to the Foundation. 100% of your donation is used to continue our programs and scholarships — every one designed to improve journalism.
Donating is easy: Just click here to get the process started! We appreciate every gift — regardless of its size — and we thank you for helping keep journalism strong and vital!
