Dear Friends and Colleagues:
From Facebook to Ferguson, Missouri; from the FBI to the NFL; from digital devices to drones; 2014 has been a year of epic ethical challenges for journalists.
I hope you’ve found RTDNA to be an important resource as you navigate such tricky territory. It’s been my privilege this year to lead a committee of committed professionals from across the country through the process of revising our association’s Code of Ethics for the first time in a decade and a half. With insightful input and frank feedback from members, we’ve made great progress toward an update that reflects the realities of the current day and reinforces the enduring values that remain as relevant as ever.
It’s a small but important part of RTDNA’s work.
The Radio Television Digital News Foundation (RTDNF) supports the Association’s efforts through education, training and thousands of dollars annually in scholarships to deserving students entering our profession.
If you agree that this cause deserves your support, please consider a contribution to RTDNF of $20, $40 or any amount that fits your budget. Your dollars will be put to use immediately in our work to build a better, stronger and more independent electronic media.
Donating is simple: Click here to make your tax-deductible donation. Checks can also be mailed to:
529 14th Street NW
Washington, DC 20045.
The RTDNF is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and your contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
If you believe as I do that electronic journalism is essential to our society, and that journalism’s credibility is its most important asset, I hope you’ll join me in supporting the work that RTDNF makes possible.
