Want to be known as a
great boss? We can help you make your own job easier
by making your team better, using skills never taught in journalism
school.
Success requires plenty of hard work and Jill Geisler (right), producer
of
Poynter's "What Great Bosses Know" columns and podcasts is ready to
help. A team
of veteran broadcast news managers joins her for a fast-paced, and fun
day of
learning. Space is limited to 25 managers, and building your reputation
as a
great boss is our only goal. Email audreyl@rtdna.org

How to
Make Your Website Work for You
What are the
features of the most successful news websites? How are they
successful? This
session will teach you how to implement these features on your own
website and
how to increase traffic in the process. This session will also explore
the
breaking news model - newsrooms tend to run breaking news on TV first,
web
second, when statistics indicate, especially during the day, that more
people
come to a website for news than watch it on television. How do you
change this
model for newsrooms, make them less reliant on TV and more on the web
and mobile
technology? Presented by Scott Woelfel (right), CEO, Armchair Media.
Pre-registration required if you would like your
website to be critiqued. Email convention@rtdna.org to
register. Please
include a link to your website.
