Foursquare 101 Webinar
Certainly by now you've at least heard of Foursquare and probably know
how to "check in" to various spots around your newsroom and neighborhood. Interestingly
enough, though, one of the most common questions we still get about Foursquare is: "Well, why should I use it?"
During RTDNA@NAB, we rolled out the Foursquare Challenge as part of a Digital Scavenger Hunt, giving convention attendees a chance to poke around the increasingly-popular geolocation tool. We instantly turned a few people into believers.
For the skeptics and those who just want to learn more, we've got a solution for you.
On Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 1 p.m. EDT join RTDNA and Lost Remote for a webinar where we'll review the basics of Foursquare as show you how it, and other geolocation tools, can add value to your newsroom.
Teaming up with Lost Remote Editor Steve Safran, we'll discuss such items as:
* using Foursquare to find sources and stories
* how to enhance your community outreach by plugging into other social media applications
* the value of "tips" on Foursquare
* potential partnerships and promotions to better engage your audience
* how geolocation tools can change news gathering in the future
* how Foursquare can better brand your organization in the mobile world
Additionally we will answer any and all of your social media and Foursquare questions. Feel free to write to Digital Media Editor Ryan Murphy at any time with your questions - ryanm@rtdna.org
The webinar is free for RTDNA members and $14.95 for non-members. Please send any questions about the webinar to RTDNA's Digital Media Editor, Ryan Murphy, at ryanm@rtdna.org.
