RTDNA Webinar - 'Law & Ethics: Social Media Edition'
Connecting with your audience on Twitter and Facebook is now a mainstay of your digital outreach, but are you doing it correctly? Can some of your posts on these sites get you sued?
Building off the success of RTDNA’s last webinar,
“Social Media Boot Camp,” we’ve decided to team up with one of the most knowledgeable First Amendment lawyers in the business, Dick Goehler, to address the legal and ethical issues you encounter each day using social media sites at your news organization.
On
Wednesday February 3, 2010 starting at 1 p.m., we’ll be discussing news gathering issues on Twitter and Facebook including:
- getting the facts straight
- the potential perils of "friending" sources on Facebook
- copyright infringement/fair use concerns
Dick will also review potential legal claims that could arise from the content you post on social networking sites and answer questions like: “Is a Facebook page protected under the Section 230 immunity protection rule?”
Sponsored by:
Registration: Free to RTDNA members
$14.95 for non-members
An archived version of the session will be available to members after Feb. 3.
