RTDNA Webinar - "Social Media Boot Camp"

Establishing an effective social media strategy at your news organization is one of the most important things you can do to connect with your audience. Distributing your content on sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn is important, but in order to truly succeed in today’s social media environment, active and knowledgeable participation on these sites is what’s ultimately going to help you grow your brand.

On December 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. EST, RTDNA will be teaming up with one of the top tech experts in news today, Sree Sreenivasan, who will teach you the basics and beyond of social media and answer all the questions you have about enhancing your news organization’s online presence. Beginner and intermediate social media users will benefit from Sree’s demonstrations and practical examples, though all news professionals, regardless of social media savvy, are encouraged to join.

Among the items we’ll discuss : how to find story ideas on social media sites, how to find sources, the best way to build your news brand, how to Tweet most effectively from a live event, handling breaking news on Twitter and Facebook and why listening on social media sites is sometimes more important than speaking.

Registration:  Free for RTDNA members
$14.95 for non-members (Click here for information on joining RTDNA)
