Someone is missing

Hmmmmmmm where was FOX?

By Mayme Trumble on Jun 30 2009

where was fox?

I like fox. NBC is too slick, plus they have their hands in the energy business. They should be banned until they focus on news entirely.

By mary on Jun 30 2009

Murrow Awards

Good question....where is Fox, considering they're the only outlet with even a shred of objectivity when it comes to reporting ( Hannity, O'Reilly are opinion shows, not news).

Ed is spinning in his grave. NBC??? CBS??? Are the judges kidding? These outlets lack of professionalism have damaged the credibility of the entire industry.

By Jim Salemi on Jun 30 2009

Fox News

Ummm,... Yeah.... Fox news should not be on this list AT ALL!!!! All they do is report the news!.. Who wants that these days? I mean, don't we all want the liberal agenda? FOX is not part of "the club". So what they are waxing the rear ends of the other news networks in ratings...
Why would anyone care about "We report - You Decide"
I think everyone needs to hear "We Decide - We Report what we want to"

Like Jay Leno said about the NY Times after they were (and still do) making up fictional stories. They shold change to sllogan from "all the news that fit to print" to just "All the news that fits"....

Fox News

As the state lottery where I live used to say, "You can't win if you don't play!" While there's no sure-fire way to absolutely win a Murrow award, there is one guaranteed way NOT to win one--don't enter. Fox News fans should encourage their favorite network to enter next year. Let's see how they do in the competition.

By Stacey Woelfel, RTNDA Chairman on Jul 01 2009

FOX NEWS?

Really... You're all butt hurt and emotional because Fox News was not included in an award given for excellence in reporting?
Yes, I understand that they call themselves fair. But to be fair, that's a joke. No one seriously takes their coverage as fair and balanced, unless they're severely off their rocker. They are disgustingly biased to the point of poor journalism. And while my take on them may not be that fair or balanced, at least I'm not lying to your face.

By Dain on Jul 02 2009

FOX news

Stop complaining and just read Stacy's comments. Fox didn't submit any entries... That's all you need to know.

By av-guy on Jul 02 2009

Edward R. Murrow Award

It might as well be the Rupert Murdoch Award, and this is
most certainly not what a first rate news dispenser should be.
But it well may be the best that one can hope for in the mainstream,
and with Fox around, it looks like press Heaven in comparison

But I should be patient. Once into this or that article, I do
find enough. That is after having run the surface gauntlet of hideous
ads from the likes of Netflix and Geico, and all the dead celebrities
since Cleopatra kicked the bucket who still hold the attention of
the brain challenged. Life in America. Congratulations. I guess.

By John Dinwiddie on Jul 05 2009

Murow Award

Well, I guess the liberal media has the money and the pull to buy any award they want.

By Robert W. Pszyk on Jul 06 2009

How did this become a political view issue?

Amazing how people can bring a political viewpoint to enforce their disagreement with an award decision.

By Kevin Cunningham on Oct 13 2009

Murrow Awards

Faux News is, as has been pointed out a lot lately, the communications arm of the Republican Party. Fans of the network are die-hard conservatives who have no interest in truth unless it is the Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly and now Beck version of the truth, None of those gentlemen are paid to "report" they are paid to make up stories that will spread fear and anger in our society. It gets ratings. Very, very good ratings. Lets just hope that among the handful (1.2 million nationwide) of people watching Faux News, most of them are watching for the entertainment value and not expecting anything more that entertainment. Since the Murrow Awards do not include a category for "Best Lies" Faux is out of luck. I'm sure Roger Ailes will invent his own award soon so he can then present it to his stable of professional liars.

Only 1 prize for CTV?

Where is CFTO-TV?? They have the best overall newscast in America. Better than what we get in the USA.
