KIAH-TV Names News Director

– It was announced today that Channel 39/KIAH-TV in Houston has tapped KyAnn Lewis to head up
news operations as News Director for the CW Network affiliate.
“KyAnn brings a
solid history of newsroom leadership to us,” said Roger Bare,
Vice-President/General Manager of Channel 39/KIAH-TV. “Her vision and boundless energy will be a
strong asset as we work to deliver more local news product to the Houston market.
Lewis joins
Channel 39/KIAH-TV from WHNS-TV located in the Greenville-Spartanburg, SC-Asheville, NC
television market. Before joining
WHNS-TV as News Director, Lewis held news management and producer positions at
KPTV-TV and KGW Northwest Newschannel 8, both located in Portland, Oregon. She is a graduate of the Journalism School
at the University
of Oregon
"Tribune(Channel
39’s parent company) is going through some really exciting changes right now,”
said KyAnn Lewis. "The station already has the foundation for a
great news product. I'm eager to get right to work and help take it to the next
level.
Lewis is
expected to join Channel 39/KIAH-TV on September 15
