Make sure you put all these RTNDA
activities on your agenda. See you in Chicago!
Wednesday, July 23: RTNDA Honors Diversity with the RTNDA/UNITY Awards
The
RTNDA/UNITY Awards will be presented during the Opening
Ceremony of the 2008 UNITY Convention. Who are the winners of the 2008 RTNDA/UNITY Awards? Click here to find out! These newsrooms achieve diversity through developing news content and editorial staffs that
reflect the changing face of their communities. The RTNDA/UNITY Awards are historically presented each
October during the RTNDA
Awards Dinner in New York, so RTNDA is
thrilled to be able to recognize these news organizations during UNITY 2008 as well as at the dinner in New York.

Saturday, July 26: RTNDF and EEJF Present Ethics en Español
Broadcast --
Tough Ethical Calls (en español) is sponsored by RTNDF
and the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation. The session will be lead by Ramon Escobar, senior consultant with Sucherman Consulting
Group in New
York. Using
case studies of actual news stories that present ethical challenges,
Escobar will lead an interactive discussion in Spanish to help
journalists feel better prepared to face their next tough call. If you
are grappling with when to go "live," how to interview juveniles or
whether you should edit video/audio, this session will help you sharpen
your news judgment skills. Attendees will leave this session with guidelines en español to use in their own newsroom.
