    Professional History and Awards

    Vineeta’s professional goal to work in the Twin Cities was realized when she joined Hubbard Broadcasting in August 1995. Her role expanded when she was named weekend anchor in September 1998, and morning and midday anchor in November 2005.

    In 2007, the morning team won an Emmy for Best Daytime Newscast and in 2006, the Midday team earned an Emmy for Best Daytime Newscast / Ford Plant Closes.

    Before joining 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, Vineeta was first a reporter and weekend weather anchor at KXJB in Fargo, North Dakota, and then a reporter and fill-in news anchor at WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska.

    Education

    Vineeta earned a double major in Journalism and Political Science while at Boston University.

    Active in the Community

    For several years, Vineeta served as the Vice-President for Broadcasting for the Asian American Journalists Association chapter in Minneapolis. She helped start a scholarship for Asian American college students. She frequently emcees major events in the Twin Cities including the Allina Hospice gala, the Frasier Center benefit gala, the Region's Hospital wine auction, the Midtown Global Market fundraiser and events associated with Children's Hospital in St. Paul. She is a board member of the Children's Hospital Association in St. Paul, a board member of the Boston University Twin Cities alumni club and a past member of the Boston University Alumni Council.
