Today marks the 70th anniversary of December 7, 1941, the day a Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor left more than 2,000 Americans dead.

Journalism has changed a lot since 1941, but it's always interesting to look back at where we've been and how we've adapted to covering breaking news.

Below you'll find a series of radio broadcasts from the attacks - a very interesting listen if you're a news guru or history buff.

Thank you for the radio links to Dec 7, 1941.

My Father was enlisted during this time and WWII (even though I was not yet born) holds a special place in my heart.

Thank You

Dealing with malevolence and Japan

I was watching NHK Asian news yesterday and I felt that if some action needed to happen to make Japan, for instance, a better led country then I could have done it without shedding a drop of blood. What I saw was one older male which could have a guilty conscience, he seemed faint and sad in nature. Don't read into it too much right? So, anyway they attacked Pearl Harbor. How could we have dealt with Japan nonviolently? I would have marched up to the island with my ships; I would have said hit our ships anymore and you will have destruction; I would have then asked to meet for 6 months and for clearance to leave the ships to be able to attend the meetings. I would have asked why they wanted to do that to us. See where I'm going? Of course it was more dysfunctional than that. Maybe they could capture the flag or leader and give him some real therapy about freedom, privacy, value of the individual and overt religious delusion.
