WASHINGTON --The Radio Television Digital News Association released its full schedule of education sessions for its RTDNA@NAB convention in Las Vegas starting on April 11. The 35 sessions focus on aspects of news coverage on all platforms. In addition to the education sessions, the convention will feature several special events, including the Paul White Award Ceremony and Reception. The Paul White Award is RTDNA’s highest honor and recognizes an individual's lifetime contributions to electronic journalism. This year, the award is being presented to Steve Kroft of CBS News’ 60 Minutes.
The full length 2010 RTDNA@NAB convention will be the last of its kind in Las Vegas. RTDNA will hold a joint convention with SPJ in 2011 and is planning on sharing some news about the partnership at the Welcome Reception on Sunday, April 11. RTDNA will have a full day of programming at the NAB convention in 2011.
Incoming RTDNA Chairman and RTDNA@NAB 2010 Convention Chair Mark Kraham said, "I’m very proud of the work the convention planning committee did to put together this year’s program, we’re featuring some really dynamic speakers. We’ve gathered more than 100 experts in the field of radio, television and online news for our program. Anyone attending the convention—students, new professionals and seasoned veterans—will leave Las Vegas with tangible skills they can put to use right away.”
Registration for the 2010 convention is running well ahead of last year’s convention and hopes are high that the last full length RTDNA@NAB convention will be a success.
