RTNDA Announces Presenters and Speakers for Awards Dinner on October 12 Honoring Recipients of the Edward R. Murrow and the RTNDA/UNITY Awards

WASHINGTON—The Radio-Television News Directors Association has confirmed an impressive lineup of presenters and speakers to honor the winners of the Edward R. Murrow Awards and the RTNDA/UNITY Awards at a dinner on October 12 at the Grand Hyatt in New York.

Award presenters include:

• Hoda Kotb, NBC News
• Russ Mitchell, CBS News
• Natalie Morales, NBC News
• John Roberts, CNN
• Brian Ross, ABC News

Among those accepting awards who are expected to make brief remarks are Jim Farley, accepting the award for Overall Excellence for WTOP-FM, Linda Ellerbee, who will accept the award for News Documentary for Nickelodeon and Richard Engel, accepting the Continuing Coverage Murrow for NBC News.  Stacey Woelfel, RTNDA Chairman, is also expected to make a speech about the future of RTNDA and will discuss the organization’s name change to the Radio Television Digital News Association.  The new logo for RTDNA is also expected to be unveiled.    
 
RTNDA’s Edward R. Murrow Awards, now in their 39th year, honor excellence in electronic journalism. In all, 51 news organizations are being honored with 79 awards. The RTNDA/UNITY Awards honor news organizations for their commitment to covering diversity.

Media Coverage

Journalists wishing to cover the event must pre-register by calling Audrey Lamb at 202.467.5245. The dinner will be held on October 12 at the Grand Hyatt New York, Park Avenue at Grand Central Station. The reception begins at 6 p.m. followed by a dinner and awards show from 7 to 10 p.m.
