News Directors' Survey: Social Media Impact on Your NewsroomNEWS DIRECTORS - WHAT IS THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN YOUR NEWSROOM?
Broadcast Journalism professors Suzanne Lysak, Michael Cremedas and graduate student John Wolf of the Newhouse School, Syracuse University are conducting a study to learn more about how local television newsrooms are using social media for news gathering. Is social media a reliable source for story information and background? Who's using social media in the newsroom and for what purpose? Are news directors overseeing what news staff are posting on blogs, Facebook and Twitter? These are some of the questions we hope to answer.
Having spent many years working in television news, we know how busy you are. We've designed a survey with quick questions that news directors can complete in 10 minutes or less.
After some questions you’ll find a comment box where you can add more information if you wish.
You may rest assured your responses will be kept confidential and neither you nor your station will be identified in any way. Please feel free to email Suzanne Lysak at slysak@syr.edu if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks so much for your help with this research!
