Don't miss your Murrow moment

February 4, 2021 10:00

2020 challenged our communities and our newsrooms in new and substantial ways. The past year also showed just how much journalism matters as journalists' work warmed hearts, educated, informed, debunked and saved lives. By submitting your newsroom’s best work from 2020 to the Edward R. Murrow Awards you’ll be:

Reigniting your passion. Reviewing your best work while selecting what to enter is a sure way to feeling renewed, reinvigorated and reminded why you became a journalist.

Recognizing your team. Submitting your newsroom’s work shows your team you are proud of the work they’ve done despite new challenges.

Building trust in your journalism. Murrow’s remains among the most respected names in news among journalists and news consumers alike, and winners can demonstrate credibility by celebrating awards earned by honoring his legacy.

Inspiring others. Every day, dozens of journalists – and potential future journalists – look to Murrow-winning work as examples to learn from and aspire to.

Demonstrating the importance of journalism. When RTDNA and winning stations highlight Murrow-winning work, it reminds news audiences of the important impact these stories – and journalism – have on their communities.

Your work mattered in 2020. Remind your newsroom and your community when you enter this year’s Murrow Awards.
