RTDNA has announced the appointment of Holly Gauntt to its board of directors, representing Region 1, which includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.
Gauntt, news director at Sinclair's KOMO-TV in Seattle, joined the station in 2007. Previously, she was news director at WTXF in Philadelphia, assistant news director at WTTG in Washington, DC and has served in a variety of news management roles. She chairs the ABC News Affiliate Board, and is a national awards representative for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
"Holly Gauntt is a highly respected news manager with a track record of high-quality journalism," said RTDNA Chairman Chris Carl. "We're delighted that she will bring her energy and expertise to our board of directors."
KOMO has won more than 30 Edward R. Murrow Awards, including the national award for Overall Excellence in Large Market Television, The Region 1 seat on the board had been overseen by Region 3 Director Kathy Walker, who will continue to represent Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Gauntt begins her duties immediately.
