This privacy policy discloses the privacy practices for www.rtdna.org. This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by this website. By using this website, you consent to our privacy policy.

Information Collection, Use and Sharing

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only collect or have access to information that you voluntarily give us via email or our web forms. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. End user's personal information will not be shared or sold to third parties for the purpose of marketing.

We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us, enable your access to utilize this website's services, supply you services that you purchase, send you statements and invoices, collect payment from you, and/or publish limited information about you on the website including names, affiliations/employers, and links to work submitted by scholarship/fellowship award applicants/winners and/or by news reporting contest entrants/winners. Work submitted for scholarship/fellowship applications and/or news reporting content entries may be used by RTDNA for marketing purposes. RTDNA may utilize elements of any awards submission for promotional purposes, including but not limited to: web links to entries, archived still images, audio and/or video stored and displayed on its own website(s), and live streamed or recorded online broadcasts of awards ceremonies in which clips of winning entries are presented.

Participation in membership, scholarship/fellowship programs and awards programs are completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact and demographic information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties

We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to process credit card transactions, without your permission. When we disclose such information to third parties for these purposes, the third party will use your information in accordance with this policy.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future with important updates about your membership, scholarship or award application, marketing communication or other news. Even if you ask us not to, you will receive notifications regarding the status of your membership, e.g., when it is about to expire or has expired, and receipts whenever you submit payment to us for any purpose. You may choose to unsubscribe from communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of such emails, except that emails may not contain unsubscribe links in the following cases: if the email is about the status of your membership or is a receipt for a payment you have made to us.

In addition to the disclosures identified above, we may disclose your information, if required by law, in connection with existing or prospective legal proceedings, in order to establish or defend our legal rights.

Information Security

About the RTDNA Foundation

The RTDNA Foundation, a 501(c)3 educational foundation, offers education and leadership development around the country to empower journalists with the tools they need to be news leaders. The Foundation awards scholarships and fellowships to help grow and strengthen the next generation of journalists. We train and equip local journalists and journalism students to know their rights and seek and report the truth ethically in support of a free and vibrant press. Gifts to RTDNA Foundation contribute to training journalists today and ensuring journalists can pursue the constitutional duty to seek and report truth in perpetuity.
