RTDNA Mourns Death of Spectrum 13 News Reporter Dylan Lyons

The Radio Television Digital News Association joins the entire journalism community in mourning the death of Spectrum News 13 reporter Dylan Lyons. We also extend our thoughts to Spectrum News 13 photojournalist Jesse Walden, who was critically injured in the attack. 

This was a tragedy, a senseless act of violence against people serving their community and reporting the news. Our thoughts are with Dylan’s family, friends and colleagues, and with the entire Orlando journalism community. 

No journalist should fear for their life simply for reporting the news.
