Professional Bio

Lauren Morgan is an accomplished broadcast news leader with more than a decade of experience building strong teams, developing journalists, and guiding high-impact morning newsrooms.

She began her career in January 2013 as a production assistant, gaining hands-on experience across studio and control room operations. That foundation informs her collaborative leadership style and deep understanding of the day-to-day demands facing newsroom teams.

Morgan became a full-time producer in 2015 and quickly found her stride in morning news. In 2017, she stepped into her first executive leadership role as Morning Executive Producer at WMBF-TV in Myrtle Beach, where she focused on coaching producers, strengthening editorial standards, and elevating daily coverage. She later brought that leadership approach to WTHR-TV in Indianapolis, helping lead one of the nation’s most competitive morning teams through high-pressure, high-impact journalism.

Today, Morgan serves as Assistant News Director at 10 Tampa Bay News, where she mentors journalists at all career stages, shapes editorial and streaming strategies, and fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and inclusion. She is especially passionate about leadership development, having been selected as a Carole Kneeland Fellow, a prestigious program recognizing emerging newsroom leaders committed to advancing excellence and diversity in journalism.

A two-time Emmy-nominated Executive Producer and Emmy Award winner, Morgan has also earned two Associated Press Awards for Best Daytime Newscast. She is driven by a commitment to thoughtful leadership, ethical journalism, and newsroom excellence.
